A highly respected employment defense firm is seeking a skilled Employment Attorney to join their collaborative team. In this role, you will handle a variety of employment defense cases, including pre-litigation, single plaintiff cases, and wage and hour class actions. You’ll work closely with the firm’s founder and receive hands-on mentorship with the opportunity for long-term career growth. They are looking for a dedicated professional with strong litigation experience, excellent communication skills, and a client-focused mindset.

Salary Range: $150,000 – $200,000 / year DOE

Employment Attorney Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of employment defense matters, including pre-litigation, litigation, and class actions
• Collaborate with the team to develop case strategies and manage case timelines
• Draft legal documents including motions, pleadings, and discovery responses
• Handle depositions, case management conferences, and motion hearings
• Participate in regular team meetings to review case strategies and workload
• Build and maintain strong client relationships; direct client interaction is available based on preference
• Collaborate with contract attorneys and legal assistants for support on discovery and motions
• Ensure timely responses and high-quality legal work with attention to detail

Employment Attorney Requirements:

• JD from an accredited law school
• Active California Bar license
• 5-10+ years of general civil litigation experience; employment defense experience is highly preferred
• Experience handling depositions and motion hearings; trial experience is a plus
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and manage a busy caseload with minimal supervision
• Reliable, responsive, and a team-oriented mindset
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
