A respected legal firm is seeking a skilled Litigation Associate with a background in Insurance Defense to join their dynamic and collaborative team. In this role, you will work on complex, high-exposure cases in construction defect, general liability, personal injury defense, and homeowners association litigation, with full support from the managing partner and team. From drafting pleadings and motions to participating in site inspections and managing risk transfers, you’ll have full case ownership with guidance to grow into a well-rounded trial attorney.

Salary Range: $125,000 – $180,000 / year DOE

Litigation Associate Responsibilities:

• Manage cases from inception to resolution, including client communication and strategy
• Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery
• Handle depositions, risk transfers, and cross complaints
• Attend and coordinate site inspections
• Collaborate with carriers, co-counsel, and clients throughout the litigation process
• Track and bill hours accurately per ADA or LNA codes
• Participate in regular internal meetings and case reviews
• Provide mentorship and take initiative on administrative contributions for potential partnership consideration

Litigation Associate Requirements:

• 4–8 years of litigation experience, with strong preference for insurance defense or defense-side personal injury
• California Bar admission required
• Experience in construction defect litigation is strongly preferred
• Proficiency with billing using ADA or LNA codes is a plus
• Prior experience in law firm or in-house insurance carrier setting
• Strong writing, organization, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently, multitask, and manage deadlines
