Job Description
A highly respected HVAC services provider is seeking an experienced and strategic General Manager. This key leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence, overseeing departmental performance, and leading business growth across residential HVAC services and new construction. The General Manager will report directly to the Owner and play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s future, with a clear path to executive leadership. They are looking for a driven, operations-savvy leader with deep HVAC experience who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and is eager to help take a well-established, family-owned company to its next level of success.
General Manager Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day leadership to direct reports
- Optimize workflows, staffing, and processes to ensure peak operational efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Develop and implement sales strategies, including updating commission structures and driving revenue
- Manage P&L, budget planning, and financial reporting to meet growth targets
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and high performance
- Lead initiatives to enhance company presence, profitability, and market competitiveness
- Implement and optimize systems for business operations
- Deliver best-in-class service to a high-end residential client base
- Act as the go-to liaison between leadership and departmental managers
General Manager Requirements:
- 5–10+ years of experience in the residential HVAC industry, including both service and new construction
- Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and departmental heads
- Strong business acumen and experience managing P&L and operational budgets
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree is a plus
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Word
- Sales-oriented with a strategic mindset and track record of driving business growth
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport across the organization
- Must be willing to work onsite
