Job Description
Position Title: Field Safety Manager – 6 Month Assignment
A leading technology and electrical construction contractor is seeking a Field Safety Manager for a temporary assignment supporting a major terminal modernization project at San Francisco International Airport. This dedicated onsite safety role will oversee day-to-day field safety, conduct jobsite observations, address unsafe conditions, support morning safety activities, monitor fall protection and scissor-lift operations, and adapt safety plans as construction conditions evolve.
The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of hands-on construction safety experience, OSHA 30 certification, and a qualifying safety designation such as CSP, ASP, CHST, or STS-C. This role is well suited for a confident, field-oriented safety professional who knows how to enforce standards, communicate effectively with crews, and make sound decisions in a fast-moving commercial construction environment.

- Conduct regular field observations and safety audits, identify unsafe conditions, and ensure corrective action is taken
- Monitor fall protection, scissor-lift operations, and other safety considerations associated with elevated construction work
- Review project-specific safety plans, traffic plans, and changing work conditions to ensure appropriate controls are in place
- Collaborate with field leadership and crews to determine safe work approaches for unusual conditions or new areas of work
- Maintain a strong field presence, enforce safety requirements, and build cooperation with crews without creating unnecessary friction
Requirements
- OSHA 30 certification
- Current CSP, ASP, CHST, STS-C, or another applicable safety certification/designation
- At least 3 years of relevant construction safety experience, with 5+ years preferred
- Hands-on safety management experience within an active commercial construction environment
- Strong knowledge of fall protection, equipment safety, jobsite hazard identification, and construction safety practices
- Ability to work onsite at San Francisco International Airport Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to address safety concerns directly and work effectively with field crews
- Ability to adapt quickly as site conditions, work plans, and project needs change
- Commercial electrical, low-voltage, HVAC, plumbing, structural steel, or similar trade experience is a plus
Benefits
- Approximately 4–7 month temporary assignment, with an anticipated duration of 5–6 months based on project needs
- Consistent 40-hour Monday through Friday schedule
- Hands-on safety leadership experience on a major airport terminal modernization project
- Exposure to large-scale commercial construction, fall protection, traffic controls, project-specific safety planning, and active field operations
- Dedicated safety position with clear ownership of the project safety function
- Required basic safety equipment, including a hard hat and reflective vest, provided for the assignment
