Job Description
Position Title: Finish Carpentry Project Manager
Join a well-established construction company known for delivering exceptional finish carpentry, window and door installations for high-end custom residential projects. The Finish Carpentry Project Manager will oversee projects from pre-planning and bidding through installation, quality control, and closeout, splitting time between the office and active job sites. This role requires someone who understands the work firsthand and can keep crews, general contractors, clients, materials, and schedules moving in the same direction with precision.
The ideal candidate brings extensive hands-on high-end finish carpentry experience, strong project leadership skills, and the ability to communicate professionally with discerning clients while maintaining an exceptional level of accuracy, urgency, and ownership.
Salary Range: $68,000 – $95,000 / Year, DOE
Responsibilities
- Oversee high-end finish carpentry, window and door installation projects from pre-construction through final closeout
- Review construction plans, prepare accurate bids and estimates, and coordinate labor, materials, and project requirements
- Meet with customers and general contractors during pre-planning to review scope, scheduling, installation requirements, and project expectations
- Order materials, process change orders, maintain organized project records, and monitor costs and project progress
- Lead installation crews in the field, coordinate scheduling with GC superintendents, and ensure crews have the information needed to complete work correctly and on time
- Perform quality control on installations and ensure work is completed safely, cleanly, and to the company’s high standards
- Communicate project updates, changes, and expectations clearly with clients, owners, general contractors, and internal teams
Requirements
- 7+ years of hands-on high-end finish carpentry experience, specifically working with windows, doors, and custom architectural finishes
- 2+ years of experience overseeing construction projects and installation crews
- Strong knowledge of high-end custom work including crown molding, wainscoting, slab doors, pivot doors, sliding glass doors, and aluminum window installation
- Ability to read construction plans and oversee projects from initial planning through completion
- Strong mathematical skills with the ability to accurately calculate labor and product costs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the professionalism required to work directly with high-end residential clients
- Strong technology skills, including Microsoft Office and the ability to work effectively with tablets and construction-related software
