Job Description
Position Title: Mechanical Engineer
A growing commercial manufacturing organization is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its product development team and play a hands-on role in designing, prototyping, and launching innovative products. This position will own projects from initial concept through manufacturing while also improving existing products through new technologies, smarter processes and cost-saving opportunities.
This is an ideal opportunity for an engineer who wants to do more than sit behind a computer. The right candidate is technically strong, naturally curious, and excited to get onto the manufacturing floor, build prototypes, solve problems, and work directly with the people making the product.
Salary Range: $70,000–$125,000 / Year, DOE
Responsibilities
- Design and develop new products from initial concept through prototyping, testing, and full-scale manufacturing
- Create functional prototypes and work hands-on in the lab to test, refine, and validate designs
- Partner closely with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical, efficient, and scalable for production
- Evaluate existing products and identify opportunities to improve performance, incorporate new technologies and reduce costs
- Collaborate with vendors to identify and source components for new and existing products
- Support custom product development and troubleshoot technical or manufacturing challenges as they arise
- Attend industry trade shows to evaluate emerging products, technologies, and market developments
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline
- Up to 7 years of relevant engineering experience; exceptional recent graduates with strong hands-on project experience will also be considered
- Experience designing a physical product and understanding how to move a design into manufacturing
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability and willingness to prototype, troubleshoot, and work directly on the manufacturing floor
- Tech-savvy with the ability to quickly learn new products, equipment, and manufacturing processes
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and work effectively with both technical and nontechnical team members
- SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD experience is highly preferred
Benefits
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- Employer-supported medical expense benefit
- 401(k) with company match
- Paid vacation and sick time
- Generous paid holiday schedule
- Quarterly bonus opportunity based on company performance
- Annual performance and compensation reviews
If you’re an engineer who wants to get out from behind the screen, build real products and take ideas all the way from concept to the manufacturing floor, apply today.
