Position Title: Outside A&D Tile Sales Representative
About the Role: This is an exciting opportunity to represent a leading tile manufacturer within the commercial architectural and design community. The Outside A&D Tile Sales Representative is responsible for driving specification activity throughout an assigned territory by building relationships with architects, designers, end users, contractors, and other key decision-makers. This role requires a consultative sales approach, strong project management skills, and the ability to manage long sales cycles from specification through project completion. Candidates will spend the majority of their time in the field meeting with clients, presenting products, and developing new business opportunities while partnering closely with internal teams to deliver exceptional service.
Salary Range: $50,000 – $60,000 / Year DOE
Outside A&D Tile Sales Representative Responsibilities:
- Make 2-3 sales calls and client visits daily throughout the assigned territory.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with architects, designers, contractors, end users, and other key decision-makers within the commercial A&D community.
- Identify top commercial design firms and develop new specification opportunities.
- Manage a combination of existing accounts, provided accounts, and reactivation of previous clients.
- Develop and secure regional and national product specifications for company products.
- Track commercial projects from specification through completion, owning the full sales cycle.
- Source tile products and solutions for customer-specific projects and applications.
- Conduct face-to-face product presentations, sampling programs, lunch-and-learns, and ongoing customer education.
- Serve as the primary product expert and technical resource for clients.
- Utilize Salesforce CRM to track accounts, opportunities, project activity, and upcoming business.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive account records and project pipelines.
- Collaborate with customer support, project managers, contractor account representatives, and internal sales teams to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate pricing and quotation support for projects.
- Conduct monthly project tracking meetings and provide follow-up on specified projects.
- Monitor market trends, customer preferences, and design styles, providing feedback to executive leadership.
- Maintain the highest level of product knowledge and industry expertise.
- Create demand through problem-solving, relationship-building, and consultative selling.
Outside A&D Tile Sales Representative Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience selling into the commercial architectural and design (A&D) market or tile industry.
- Proven ability to build relationships and influence product specifications within the design community.
- Strong verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent time management, organization, and project follow-through abilities.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and long sales cycles simultaneously.
- Interior design background preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Design, or a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Salesforce CRM experience preferred.
- Experience with SAP Business One or similar ERP software preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, PivotTables, and VLOOKUPs, preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to lift and transport product samples up to 25 pounds.
- Willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory as needed.
