Job Description

Position Title: NICET Certified Fire Sprinkler Designer

The NICET Certified Fire Sprinkler Designer plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and functionality of fire sprinkler systems. This position involves designing systems by surveying construction sites, interpreting blueprints, and creating detailed working drawings using AutoCAD and other design software. Close collaboration with field installation teams is essential to guarantee that designs are implemented accurately. The ideal candidate will possess the necessary certifications and licenses, including NICET certification in water-based systems layout, and will commit to ongoing education to maintain professional standards. This role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive environment with a focus on performance-based outcomes.

Salary Range: $120,000 – $130,000 / Year DOE

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize AutoCAD and other design software to create fire sprinkler system drawings
  • Survey construction sites and take precise measurements
  • Interpret and navigate structural drawings and blueprints
  • Produce working fire sprinkler/shop drawings for design-build projects
  • Communicate effectively with field teams to ensure design accuracy and proper installation
  • Maintain NICET continuing education requirements as necessary

Requirements:

  • NICET 1-4 certification is required
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant fire sprinkler design experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential
  • Able to read and interpret structural drawings and blueprints
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with field teams
  • Experience with SprinkCAD and/or HydraCAD is preferred
  • NICET III or IV certification is preferred
  • OSHA 10 certification is preferred
  • Prior design-build fire sprinkler experience is preferred
