Job Description
Position Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician
An Industrial Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of manufacturing processes within the company. This position involves hands-on technical work, requiring a blend of mechanical aptitude and process control. The technician will engage in troubleshooting and maintenance of industrial equipment, contributing to efficiency and product consistency. Attention to detail is essential, as the products manufactured are utilized in critical sectors such as aerospace and medical. Responsibilities:
- Run a twin screw compounder, mixing raw epoxy materials into consistent compounds
- Operate a powder processing line, handling, blending, and forming epoxy powders into usable formats
- Support maintenance and troubleshooting to keep older industrial equipment running smoothly
- Set up, start, and run the twin screw compounder
- Load raw materials into the system
- Monitor temperature zones, pressure, screw speed, and material flow
- Adjust settings to ensure consistent epoxy quality and output
- Run powder processing equipment, including mixing, feeding, and forming lines
- Weigh and prepare batches based on precise formulas
- Track lot numbers and ensure traceability
- Check finished products for consistency, shape, and cure behavior
- Document production runs and results
- Perform routine machine maintenance, including cleaning screws, barrels, and feeders
- Troubleshoot flow issues, inconsistent mixing, and equipment jams
- Work with the maintenance team for larger repairs
- Help improve efficiency, waste reduction, and product consistency
- Support trials for new epoxy formulations
- Follow strict chemical handling procedures
- Maintain a clean work area in compliance with 5S and GMP standards
Requirements:
- Must have mechanical aptitude and the ability to fix equipment
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, ideally in plastics, chemicals, or extrusion
- Ability to follow precise formulas and documentation
- Comfort in a hands-on, industrial environment
- Strong troubleshooting ability
- Experience with extrusion, plastics, or chemical production is preferred
