Job Description
Position Title: Specialty Department Manager
The Specialty Department Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the operations of multiple departments within the facility. This position is akin to a mini CEO, responsible for ensuring that budgeting, staffing, and procedures align with organizational standards. The manager will collaborate closely with providers and physicians, navigating a diverse range of personalities and challenges. Effective communication and strong financial acumen are essential for success in this independent role. The manager will also lead a team, fostering a supportive environment while maintaining high standards of patient care.
Specialty Department Manager Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of three departments, managing between 15 to 45 staff members in each
- Handle staffing processes, including hiring and terminating employees
- Manage financial aspects such as P&L statements and budgeting
- Address individual employee issues and collaborate with the HR department for larger concerns
- Process payroll for both staff and providers
- Support scheduling efforts, working with team leads when necessary
Specialty Department Manager Requirements:
- Five years of healthcare experience in a similar role
- Supervisory experience
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred
