Job Description
A booming manufacturing company is seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Senior Accountant to support the company’s financial operations and directly assist the CFO and CEO. This role is responsible for full-cycle accounting, including financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, A/R and A/P, inventory oversight, and supporting strategic planning. The ideal candidate will be a reliable self-starter with experience in the manufacturing industry and a desire to grow into a senior financial leadership role.
They are looking for someone who thrives in a structured, fast-paced environment, takes ownership of their work, and is motivated to help scale our finance operations as the company continues to grow.
Salary Range: $70,000 – $80,000 / year DOE
Senior Accountant Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records and prepare financial statements
- Reconcile general ledger and bank accounts regularly
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations
- Support audits and prepare audit documentation
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting in coordination with the CFO
- Monitor revenue, expenses, and cash flow; perform variance and trend analysis
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable activities, including collections
- Manage inventory accounting and work with operations to ensure cost efficiency
- Develop and improve accounting processes, procedures, and controls
- Utilize QuickBooks, Word, and Outlook for financial tracking and reporting
Senior Accountant Requirements:
- 3–5 years of accounting experience
- Manufacturing experience is required
- Proficiency with QuickBooks
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to work fully onsite in North New Hyde Park, NY
- Must be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred
- Experience in wholesale manufacturing is a plus
- Familiarity with inventory accounting
- Strong analytical mindset and process improvement skills
