A long-standing leader in the manufacturing industry is seeking a hands-on Accounting Supervisor to lead a small but vital accounting team. This role will oversee accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP), manage cash flow, ensure timely collections, monitor payroll, and produce financial reports to support the company’s financial health. The ideal candidate will be an experienced accounting professional with strong leadership skills, capable of supervising a team of two while handling high-volume transactions in a fast-paced environment.

Salary Range: $75,000 – $105,000 / year DOE

Accounting Supervisor Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage daily operations of the accounting department, including AR and AP staff
• Monitor cash flow and balance payables while ensuring timely payments to vendors
• Handle collections, including customer outreach to secure payments
• Process invoices, review financial transactions, and ensure accuracy
• Prepare and analyze monthly P&L statements and other financial reports
• Supervise payroll processing for approximately 50 employees
• Collaborate with purchasing to align vendor payments with budget and cash flow needs
• Work closely with the CEO to address ownership requests and financial decisions
• Utilize Excel and company accounting software

Accounting Supervisor Requirements:

• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Proficiency in Excel and ability to work with financial data
• Strong communication and customer service skills, particularly in collections
• Ability to multitask and handle a variety of responsibilities in a small team setting
• Must be comfortable with direct feedback and a fast-moving environment
• Local to Brooklyn, NY, and able to work onsite five days per week
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting is a plus
