An established and growing professional services firm is seeking a hands-on and forward-thinking Controller to lead and modernize its accounting operations. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing financial reporting, improving processes and workflows, overseeing cash flow modeling, and mentoring accounting staff. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, solutions-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to take on increased leadership responsibilities.

Controller Responsibilities:

• Lead all accounting functions, including client, vendor, and subconsultant invoicing across multiple entities
• Manage month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Mentor and supervise team members, providing oversight and development
• Assess and improve financial processes and workflows to increase efficiency and accuracy
• Build and manage cash flow models, providing actionable insights and forecasts for executive leadership
• Provide real-time reporting and data on the firm’s financial position to support strategic decision-making
• Support executive leadership with financial planning and growth initiatives

Controller Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 8–10+ years of accounting experience, with strong cash flow modeling skills
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong understanding of financial principles, reconciliations, and month-end close processes
• Proven leadership and mentoring experience
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• CPA certification is highly preferred
