Position Title: Confidential Field Operations Manager, Commercial Drywall and Framing

This role serves as a pivotal leadership position overseeing the performance and profitability of the commercial drywall and framing department. The Manager is responsible for ensuring safety and quality across multiple concurrent projects while managing a team of supervisors and foremen. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in the trade, demonstrating the ability to plan manpower and control costs effectively. This position requires a strong understanding of commercial job operations and the capacity to represent the company to various stakeholders. The role demands a commitment to developing team members and maintaining high standards in project execution.

Salary Range: $95,000 – $120,000 / Year DOE

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site visits to ensure compliance with project standards
  • Directly oversee 4 to 5 site supervisors managing teams of 5 to 50 personnel
  • Negotiate contracts with subcontractors
  • Own overall department performance, including revenue and safety
  • Lead and develop Commercial Supervisors, Foremen, and field crews while setting clear expectations
  • Establish and maintain departmental standards and SOPs for various scopes of work
  • Partner with ownership to set annual goals, budgets, and growth plans
  • Monitor job costs, schedules, and resource allocation to proactively address conflicts
  • Approve material orders and change orders within authority

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in drywall and commercial framing, including field and leadership roles
  • At least 5 years of experience leading multiple commercial projects and supervising supervisors/foremen
  • Working knowledge of OSHA 30 requirements, job site safety programs, and quality standards
  • Deep knowledge of commercial drywall scopes, including metal stud framing and finishing
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings, specifications, RFIs, and submittals
  • Proven ability to manage department-level P&L and job cost performance
  • Experience with construction management software such as Procore or Bluebeam
  • Clean driving record
  • Good writing and Excel skills
  • Strong follow-up capabilities
  • Must be tech savvy
  • Experience with change orders and contract negotiations
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred
  • Prior experience as a Department Head, Operations Manager, or General Superintendent with a commercial contractor is preferred
  • OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, and other relevant safety certifications are preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are preferred
