- Review and assist with legal research, written work, and case strategy developed by junior attorneys
- Collaborate with shareholders, practice leaders, paralegals and attorneys across the firm to drive strong client outcomes
- Participate in monthly litigation practice group meetings and contribute to the continued development of the department
- Maintain a target of 1,550 billable hours annually while delivering responsive, high-quality client service
- Build trusted relationships with clients and contribute to the firm’s longstanding reputation in the Central Coast business community
Requirements
- 7+ years of substantive business, commercial, or civil litigation experience
- Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar
- Significant experience in business, commercial, real property or real estate litigation
- Demonstrated first-chair trial experience in California courts
- Proven ability to independently manage cases through all phases of litigation
- Experience mentoring, supervising, or leading associate attorneys
- Strong deposition, discovery, motion practice, trial preparation and litigation strategy skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with sound professional judgment
- Collaborative, low-ego leadership style and a genuine commitment to developing others
- Strong work ethic, enthusiasm, and ability to perform effectively in a deadline-driven litigation environment

- Additional incentive of 20% of fees collected above established goals + 6% origination incentive
- Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
- 401(k) with employer match
- Unlimited PTO + Paid federal holidays
- Relocation assistance of up to $10,000 for qualified candidates
- Opportunity to work from either the Salinas or Monterey office
- Clear track toward Equity Shareholder, with the intention of positioning the successful attorney for that path within approximately one year
