Job Description

A respected full-service law firm is seeking a Litigation Attorney with 4–7 years of experience to join its Sacramento office. This attorney will play a hands-on role in managing a variety of cases, with a strong focus on labor and employment litigation. The position includes advising clients on workplace policies, managing litigation from start to finish, and collaborating with a passionate, supportive legal team. This is a growth opportunity for a dedicated litigator with strong writing skills, sound judgment, and a collaborative spirit. The ideal candidate brings a defense-side mindset, thrives in a team environment, and wants to grow within a firm that offers a path to partnership.

Salary Range: $127,000 – $190,000 / year DOE

Litigation Attorney Responsibilities:

  • Handle all phases of litigation, with a focus on labor and employment cases, general litigation also acceptable
  • Draft employment policies, agreements, and handbooks for employer clients
  • Advise clients on compliance, employee relations, and evolving legal standards
  • Conduct legal research, write motions, and prepare case strategies
  • Represent clients in court, depositions, and administrative hearings
  • Maintain billable hours target of 1,750 annually, 75 hours may be marketing or pro bono

Litigation Attorney Requirements:

  • 4–7 years of litigation experience, labor & employment preferred
  • Active membership in the California State Bar
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication and time management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • Ability to manage multiple matters independently while collaborating with the team
  • Prior experience on the defense side of labor & employment law is a plus
  • General litigation background with a passion for client-focused solutions is preferred
