Job Description
Position Title: Project Engineer
The Project Engineer plays a vital role in supporting Project Managers across all phases of construction projects. This position serves as a crucial link between project design and field execution, ensuring that projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. The ideal candidate is organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.

Salary Range: $70,000 – $80,000 / Year DOE
Project Engineer Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret project plans, specifications, contracts, and scope of work documents
- Prepare, submit, and track material submittals and approval processes
- Assist with Requests for Information (RFIs), change orders, project correspondence, and document control
- Support Project Managers with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordination activities
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, inspectors, architects, engineers, and clients to support project execution
- Solicit and evaluate quotations for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted services
- Monitor procurement activities and material deliveries to support project schedules
- Conduct jobsite visits as needed to verify project progress, material requirements, and field conditions
- Assist in maintaining project records, logs, reports, and closeout documentation
- Participate in project meetings and prepare meeting notes, action items, and follow-up communications
- Identify and communicate project risks, delays, or potential issues to project leadership
- Maintain organized task lists and prioritize assignments to meet project deadlines
- Assist in the estimating process for new potential jobs as well as for change orders for current jobs
- Support project closeout activities and final deliverables to clients
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Project Engineer Requirements:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in construction project coordination, project engineering, or related construction management roles
- Electrical construction experience is strongly preferred
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, specifications, and contracts
- Working knowledge of construction project management processes and documentation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
- Experience with Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, and other construction management software
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred or electrical technology certificate from a state-approved program; Relevant coursework or industry certifications along with HS diploma or GED also accepted
- Experience supporting commercial, industrial, public works, or infrastructure projects is preferred
- Experience working in a union construction environment is preferred
