Job Description
Position Title: Landscaping Account Manager
Some of the most distinctive residential properties in the Aspen area depend on a landscape team that earns the trust of demanding owners year after year. This Landscaping Account Manager role places a professional at the center of those relationships, with an established portfolio of high-end residential properties and an annual maintenance renewal rate of approximately 90%. Incoming work currently exceeds what the company can field, so the role centers on relationship-led growth rather than cold calling.
The position carries real influence. Enhancement work spans trees and planting, gardens, patios, retaining walls, fencing, hardscaping, and irrigation, and the account manager guides each project from recommendation through profitable delivery. The company is entrepreneurial, values initiative, and shapes roles around talent and contribution. An account management group was built only last year, and a strong hire may help define its processes and coach its members. The work is based in Carbondale, about 25 minutes from Aspen, where skiing, cycling, and fishing sit close to home. The owner will also consider relocation assistance for the right candidate.
Salary Range: $80,000 – $95,000 / Year DOE
Landscaping Account Manager Responsibilities
- Own an assigned portfolio of high-end residential properties and build lasting relationships with property owners and other client contacts
- Confirm that the contracted landscape maintenance scope is delivered to a high standard
- Manage annual maintenance agreements and renewals, including the company’s growing use of automatic renewals
- Visit properties regularly to assess condition and client needs, and recommend landscape improvements proactively while responding to inbound client requests
- Sell and coordinate enhancements such as trees and planting, gardens, mulch, patio renovations, retaining walls, fencing, hardscaping, and irrigation expansions
- Develop proposals and estimates, work with design and operations resources as needed, secure client approval, and oversee execution and profitability
- Distinguish enhancement sales from standard maintenance and billable repairs
- Support the growth of the client portfolio through existing relationships and new accounts
- Train, advise, and organize the three current account managers, and help establish a scalable account management function, as a preferred scope for a senior hire
Landscaping Account Manager Requirements
- Landscaping or horticultural knowledge sufficient to understand property maintenance needs and enhancement opportunities
- Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships, manage service delivery against contracted scope, and identify and coordinate landscape enhancement opportunities
- Direct landscaping experience, with consideration given to adjacent backgrounds such as property management or hospitality when paired with strong local relationships with affluent clients and the ability to develop horticultural knowledge
- Ability to estimate, close, and manage enhancement projects from proposal through completion
- Strong communication and ownership mindset suited to an entrepreneurial, high-accountability environment
- Experience as a landscape account manager who can train, advise, and lead other account managers is preferred
- Experience with high-end residential landscape or property management, or commercial landscaping account management with irrigation expertise, is preferred
- Experience with Aspire software is preferred
- Spanish-language skills are preferred
Benefits
- Company-paid medical coverage at 75% of employee-only premiums, offered through Associated General Contractors of Colorado and Contractors Health Trust
- Commission opportunity on profitable enhancement sales, in addition to base salary
- Paid time off scaled by service: two weeks in the first year, three weeks from one to three years, and four weeks from four years onward, with flexibility considered for a strong candidate
- Flexible approach to scheduling that prioritizes results and client relationships over a rigid timetable
- Relocation assistance considered for the right candidate
- Potential path to lead the account management group, subject to performance and business needs
