Salary Range: $125,000 – $150,000 / annually, DOE

  • Lead the transition from cash-basis bookkeeping to accrual accounting, establishing a structured monthly close process
  • Oversee general ledger activities, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting to ensure accuracy and GAAP compliance
  • Develop and manage consolidated financial reporting, intercompany transactions, and accounting processes across multiple entities
  • Prepare the organization for its first GAAP audit, implementing internal controls, documentation, and audit-ready procedures
  • Streamline accounting operations by improving integration between QuickBooks Online, payroll systems, banking platforms, and transaction settlement data
  • Oversee cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and high-volume financial transactions while strengthening financial oversight
  • Supervise and mentor accounting personnel while developing scalable processes and leveraging automation and AI-driven tools to improve efficiency

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Active CPA certification required
  • 3–5 years of Controller experience, including direct oversight of accounting personnel
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, accrual accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close procedures
  • Demonstrated experience managing GAAP audits, balance sheet reconciliations, and internal financial controls
  • Experience overseeing accounting operations across multiple entities and jurisdictions
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and the ability to integrate financial systems, implement new technologies, and leverage AI tools to improve processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in logistics, transportation, industrial services, or another high-volume, transaction-intensive industry
  • Previous experience transitioning an organization from cash-basis to accrual accounting
  • Familiarity with debt financing, or mergers and acquisitions
  • Experience building accounting functions, improving financial infrastructure, and supporting organizations through periods of rapid growth
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a willingness to remain actively involved in day-to-day accounting operations

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation based on experience
  • Employee benefits package currently being developed
  • Opportunity to help shape financial processes, systems, and organizational infrastructure
  • Direct exposure to executive leadership and stakeholders
  • Significant professional development and leadership opportunities
  • Potential advancement into a Chief Financial Officer role as the organization grows
