Reporting directly to the President, this individual will have the authority to develop field leadership, optimize manpower and equipment, and drive operational excellence across major commercial and structural concrete projects.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of concrete place and finish experience, a strong background in commercial or structural concrete construction, and a proven track record of leading large field crews across multiple projects. This opportunity is designed for an established field leader who commands respect, develops high-performing teams, and knows how to build systems that deliver exceptional quality, safety, and productivity.

Salary Range: $170,000 – $200,000 / annually, DOE

Responsibilities

  • Direct all concrete placement and finishing operations across Southern California, overseeing multiple crews and approximately 40 field personnel
  • Lead, develop, and expand place and finish crews while maintaining consistent workmanship, productivity, and quality across projects
  • Establish and enforce companywide standards for concrete placement, finishing, curing, protection, and quality control
  • Plan and coordinate major concrete pours, including manpower, equipment, concrete deliveries, pumping operations, crew assignments, and production sequencing
  • Partner with project management, preconstruction, and field superintendents to coordinate schedules, review project requirements, and ensure efficient execution
  • Monitor labor hours, production quantities, crew performance, and equipment utilization to identify opportunities for operational improvement
  • Provide technical leadership on complex concrete placements, resolve field challenges, and develop contingency plans for equipment, weather, and material disruptions
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop finishing foremen, superintendents, and skilled craftsmen while building a strong leadership pipeline
  • Enforce OSHA and California construction safety requirements while promoting accountability and a quality-first field culture
  • Develop standardized production reporting, operational KPIs, and scalable processes to support continued regional expansion

Requirements

  • 10+ years of hands-on concrete placement and finishing experience, preferably within commercial or structural concrete construction
  • Proven experience leading multiple place and finish crews, supervising approximately 40 field personnel, and managing operations across concurrent projects
  • Established reputation as a respected field leader with the ability to recruit, retain, and motivate skilled concrete finishing teams
  • Strong technical knowledge of concrete placement, finishing methods, curing, quality control, and large-scale pour operations
  • Ability to interpret structural drawings, construction specifications, concrete details, and project requirements
  • Demonstrated expertise in manpower planning, construction scheduling, field productivity, and equipment coordination
  • Experience working with structural concrete systems, complex commercial projects, and high-volume concrete placements
  • Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills with the ability to hold field teams accountable
  • Willingness to travel throughout Southern California approximately four days per week and respond to critical field conditions outside standard business hours
  • Preferred qualifications include 15+ years of structural concrete experience, projects exceeding $10 million in concrete scope, union relationships, ACI Flatwork Certification, and experience developing operational KPIs
  • Experience with On-Screen Takeoff, Sage Timberline, PlanGrid, or Bluebeam is a plus

Benefits

  • Performance-based bonus opportunities
  • Company-provided vehicle, gas card, and company credit card
  • 100% employer-paid medical coverage for employees and eligible family members
  • Medical plan options, including HMO and PPO coverage
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Discretionary profit-sharing opportunities with a historically strong contribution program
  • Minimum two weeks of paid vacation with flexibility based on experience
  • Field-based leadership role with no daily office reporting requirement
  • Direct access to executive leadership and significant autonomy in operational decision-making
  • Opportunity to build and lead an expanding regional operation with long-term growth potential
