Job Description

Position Title: Investment Banking Associate

Join a growing M&A platform where you will have the opportunity to work across the full transaction lifecycle, contribute directly to business development, and help shape an emerging practice within a highly respected investment banking environment. This Investment Banking Associate will support and increasingly lead M&A transactions spanning financial modeling, valuation, diligence, buyer outreach, negotiation, and closing, with a particular focus on technology, defense, cybersecurity, AI, and other emerging sectors.

The ideal candidate brings 3–4 years of meaningful M&A or investment banking experience, is highly technology-forward, and thrives in an entrepreneurial environment where initiative, adaptability, and client-facing confidence are essential.

Salary Range: $95,000 – $120,000 / annually, DOE

Responsibilities

  • Support and progressively manage M&A transactions across the full deal lifecycle, including modeling, valuation, diligence, positioning, buyer outreach, negotiation, and closing
  • Build financial models and conduct transaction-related research and analysis
  • Manage the M&A pipeline and client activity within Salesforce and other CRM platforms
  • Engage with prospective buyers, sellers, investors, and banking counterparts throughout transaction processes
  • Prepare pre-read materials, capture meeting minutes, and support deal preparation and execution
  • Develop creative solutions and strategic recommendations for both buy-side and sell-side clients
  • Leverage AI and emerging technology to improve research, analysis, modeling, and transaction workflows
  • Participate actively in outbound business development, relationship building, and new opportunity sourcing
  • Help build and scale a growing M&A platform by taking ownership across multiple areas as the practice expands

Requirements

  • 3–4 years of M&A, transactional investment banking, or comparable banking associate experience
  • Meaningful exposure to the complete M&A process, including modeling, valuation, diligence, positioning, buyer outreach, negotiation, and closing
  • Strong financial modeling, analytical, research, and transaction execution capabilities
  • Technology-forward mindset with demonstrated proficiency using AI as a practical tool within professional workflows
  • Experience with Bloomberg and Outlook
  • Ability to confidently communicate with clients, prospective buyers, investors, and other stakeholders
  • Strong initiative, intellectual curiosity, adaptability, and willingness to wear multiple hats within a growing platform
  • Interest in business development and contributing to the continued expansion of the M&A practice
  • Ability to operate effectively in an entrepreneurial environment with limited administrative infrastructure
  • Series 7 licensing will be required upon joining the firm

Preferred Qualifications

  • Military or veteran background
  • Experience with defense technology, dual-use technology, cybersecurity, autonomy, AI, government services, or adjacent national security markets
  • Previous experience at a bulge-bracket or established investment bank
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance options
  • Employer-paid medical premiums for employees and their families
  • 401(k) plan with employer safe harbor match
  • Paid vacation and sick time
  • Fully remote work environment with access to offices in New York City, Chicago, and San Diego
  • Discretionary performance bonus opportunities
  • Significant long-term earning and compensation growth potential
  • Opportunity to join a newly established M&A platform at an early stage and grow into a leadership position
  • Direct partnership with an experienced, technology-focused Head of M&A in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment

If you are an experienced M&A professional who wants more ownership, broader transaction exposure, and the opportunity to help build a platform rather than simply execute within one, we encourage you to apply.
