Job Description
Position Title: Estate Planning Paralegal
This is an opportunity for an experienced paralegal who is equally strong in precise legal work and meaningful client relationships. The Estate Planning Paralegal will spend approximately 60% of their time supporting substantive estate planning and probate matters and 40% creating a polished, compassionate client experience. From drafting trusts and wills to coordinating signing ceremonies, trust funding, and client communications, this person will play a critical role in keeping matters moving accurately and ensuring clients feel supported throughout the process.
The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of paralegal experience, exceptional attention to detail, and the maturity to work independently in a client-facing environment where discretion, accountability, and empathy matter.’
Salary Range: $53,000 – $77,000 / Year, DOE
Responsibilities
- Prepare first drafts of estate planning documents including revocable and irrevocable trusts, pour-over wills, powers of attorney, advance healthcare directives, HIPAA authorizations and related documents
- Prepare amendments, restatements, trustee appointments, resignations and other trust administration documents
- Coordinate and support signing ceremonies, ensuring signatures, witness requirements, notarizations and documentation are completed accurately
- Prepare Georgia deeds, PT-61 real estate transfer tax forms and county e-filings related to trust funding
- Track trust funding activities, beneficiary designations and outstanding client requirements through completion
- Support probate and trust administration matters by preparing petitions, notices, inventories, annual returns, asset schedules and related documentation
- Maintain accurate matter information, deadlines, engagement documents and billing information within the firm’s practice management system
- Answer incoming calls, welcome clients and provide professional front-of-office support
- Coordinate consultations, appointment confirmations, client packets, reminders and milestone communications
- Communicate compassionately with elderly clients, grieving families, and individuals navigating sensitive family circumstances while appropriately routing legal questions to attorneys
- Support educational seminars and client events, including materials, registration, logistics, and follow-up
Requirements
- 2+ years of paralegal experience with estate planning or probate experience strongly preferred
- Experience in real estate closings, trust administration, or elder law will also be considered
- Georgia Notary Public commission or ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire
- Strong document drafting and production skills with exceptional accuracy under deadlines
- Experience with Clio or a comparable legal practice management platform
- Strong client service and communication skills with the ability to navigate sensitive conversations professionally and compassionately
- Highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage deadlines and multiple active matters without continual supervision
- Demonstrated initiative, critical thinking, discretion, and personal accountability
- Reliable, professional, and comfortable balancing substantive legal work with significant client interaction
