Job Description
Position Title: Manufacturing Operations Manager
Step into a high-impact operations role where custom manufacturing, complex programs, and rapid growth come together. A growing specialty manufacturer supporting government and military programs is seeking a Manufacturing Operations Manager to oversee production operations, improve scheduling and workflow, and ensure complex customer programs stay on track. This role will work closely with leadership, customers, and the production floor to manage bills of materials, vendor materials, project schedules, staffing needs, and operational priorities across a highly customized manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on manufacturing leader with strong project and program management skills who understands how to turn complex requirements into efficient execution on the floor. This is not a desk-only leadership role — the right person will be visible, engaged, and comfortable jumping in wherever needed to keep operations moving.
Salary Range: $120,000 – $145,000 / Year, DOE
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations, workflow, scheduling, and production priorities
- Review and manage bills of materials, vendor materials, and production requirements for highly customized products
- Partner directly with customers to understand project requirements, timelines, and changing priorities
- Coordinate with the production floor, supervisors, engineers, and technical staff to improve efficiency and keep projects on schedule
- Lead planning and execution for projects and long-term programs ranging from smaller custom orders to multimillion-dollar contracts
- Identify training and development needs, mentor team members, and strengthen operational accountability
- Improve processes, scheduling, and resource planning as the organization continues to scale
Requirements
- 6–10+ years of operations experience within a manufacturing facility
- Strong knowledge of bills of materials, manufacturing planning, scheduling, and workflow management
- Proven project and program management experience within a custom or complex manufacturing environment
- Supervisory experience with the ability to lead, mentor, and hold teams accountable
- Ability to read and work with technical drawings
- Strong technology skills and comfort learning and working across manufacturing systems
- U.S. citizenship required due to government contracting and background requirements
Benefits
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- Qualified retirement and profit-sharing plan
- 2 weeks of PTO + 9 paid holidays
- Quarterly bonus opportunity + annual performance reviews and salary increases
If you are a hands-on manufacturing operations leader who thrives on variety, complex projects, and building better systems as a company scales, apply today to take the next step in your career.
