Job Description
Position Title: AP Consultant
About: Join a sophisticated investment management firm where your AP expertise will directly support a complex, multi-entity financial operation. As an Accounts Payable Consultant, you’ll manage the day-to-day AP function, including invoice processing, vendor management, employee expenses, reconciliations, month-end support, and issue resolution. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who takes ownership, works well independently, and enjoys solving problems in a fast-paced environment!
Salary: $20-$35/ Hour DOE
Responsibilities:
- Process and code 200–300 complex invoices per month across multiple legal entities, ensuring accurate allocations, proper approvals, and timely payments
- Manage multi-entity AP activity, including complex fund allocations requiring coordination with portfolio managers, finance teams, and public fund teams
- Maintain vendor records, resolve invoice and payment discrepancies, and serve as a reliable point of contact for vendors and internal stakeholders
- Process employee expense reports in compliance with company policies, reconciling receipts and approvals with accuracy
- Support month-end close activities and assist with AP-related reconciliations and reporting
- Research and independently resolve invoice, payment, and account discrepancies with a follow-through, get-it-done mindset
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments to obtain approvals, troubleshoot issues, and address AP-related questions
Requirements:
- 2+ years of accounts payable or related financial experience, preferably in a corporate or financial services environment
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and hands-on experience with accounting software
- Proven ability to manage high-volume, complex invoices across multiple entities or business units
- Excellent attention to detail — number accuracy is non-negotiable in this role
- Strong communicator with the confidence to push back, ask the right questions, and follow through independently
- Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and manage multiple responsibilities without dropping the ball
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred but not required — experience speaks louder
Benefits
- Free lunch daily — and dinner if you’re working late
- Hybrid schedule with Fridays work-from-home
- Monthly happy hours, quarterly movie nights, poker nights, and an annual holiday party with significant others
- Real path to conversion and long-term growth within a stable, entrepreneurial firm
- Intellectually stimulating environment where no two days look the same
If you’re a critical thinker who thrives on complexity, takes pride in precision, and wants to be part of a team that’s as sharp as it is welcoming — this is the role for you. Apply today and bring your A-game.
