Position Title: Senior Employment Paralegal (FEHA)
This role is essential for supporting a dynamic legal team focused on employment law matters. The Senior Employment Paralegal will have a significant impact on case management and attorney support, particularly in handling claims related to the Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA). Salary Range: $72,800 – $104,000 / Year DOE
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, organize, and maintain case files, pleadings, discovery, correspondence, medical records, personnel files, wage records, and other case materials
- Assist attorneys with FEHA-related claims, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, disability accommodation, protected leave, wrongful termination matters, and in preparing for depositions, mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trials
- Draft and revise pleadings, discovery requests, discovery responses, subpoenas, deposition notices, mediation briefs, settlement documents, and trial preparation materials
- Conduct factual investigations, including reviewing personnel records, policies, emails, internal complaints, HR files, performance records, and witness statements
- Assist with discovery management, including document collection, production, privilege review, deposition preparation, e-discovery coordination and matters before courts, and other relevant agencies
- Calendar and monitor litigation deadlines, including discovery cutoffs, motion deadlines, court hearings, mediation dates, trial dates, and administrative deadlines
- Prepare chronologies, witness summaries, damages summaries, issue outlines, and case evaluation materials
- Coordinate with clients, witnesses, experts, opposing counsel, court personnel, vendors, and administrative agencies
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employment, personnel, medical, and litigation materials
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience as a senior paralegal dealing with FEHA claims
- Degree is preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred
