Position Title: Safety Coordinator

The Safety Coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing and managing the safety program within the company. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and industry standards, while maintaining accurate documentation and certifications. The Safety Coordinator collaborates closely with field teams and leadership to enforce safety protocols, conduct audits, and provide training. The role demands strong communication skills to engage effectively with individuals at all levels, as well as the ability to adapt quickly to changing situations. A proactive approach to fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement is essential for success in this position.

Salary Range: $85,000 – $100,000 / Year DOE

Safety Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Re-establish and strengthen the company’s safety program to ensure full operational effectiveness
  • Ensure all safety documentation and compliance records are collected, tracked, and kept current
  • Monitor and manage expiration dates for certifications, ensuring timely renewals for field employees
  • Facilitate and enforce existing safety programs, acting as the point person for adoption and accountability
  • Conduct and maintain Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) for all project sites
  • Prepare, maintain, and submit OSHA 300 logs and other required regulatory reporting
  • Keep the company safety manual updated in alignment with current OSHA standards
  • Develop, implement, and update company safety policies and procedures
  • Perform job site safety inspections and audits for electrical projects
  • Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and ongoing employee safety training
  • Investigate incidents, near-misses, and injuries; document findings and implement corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations
  • Partner with project managers and field supervisors to proactively identify and mitigate risks
  • Maintain and track PPE inventory and ensure proper usage across job sites
  • Support the onboarding of new employees with safety orientation and training
  • Analyze safety data and trends to recommend improvements and reduce incidents
  • Act as the main point of contact for safety audits and external inspections

Safety Coordinator Requirements:

  • Must have 2+ years of experience as a Safety Coordinator or similar within a construction environment, ideally electrical
  • Experience with tracking compliance records and keeping them up to date
  • Experience updating and creating SOPs for safety policies and procedures
  • OSHA certifications preferred
