Job Description

Position Title: Project Manager

The Project Manager oversees multiple public and private construction projects, typically ranging from $500K to $1.5M and lasting 2 to 5 months. They will serve as the primary point of contact for clients and internal teams, ensuring that projects adhere to schedules, budgets, and quality standards, particularly in heavy underground, structural concrete, framing, and vertical construction work. The position demands a proactive and engaging personality, as collaboration with diverse teams is essential. Candidates should be prepared to work in a hands-on environment, balancing both field and office responsibilities while maintaining strong client relationships. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to significant projects, including work within high-profile locations like Disneyland.

Salary Range: $100,000 – $150,000 / Year DOE

Project Manager Responsibilities:

  • Prepare project estimates and bid packages
  • Send out bid documents and gather subcontractor quotes
  • Conduct takeoffs and obtain material pricing
  • Attend pre-bid meetings
  • Define project scope and goals
  • Build timelines, schedules, and key milestones
  • Manage budget and keep projects on track financially
  • Allocate staff, materials, and resources efficiently
  • Identify potential issues early
  • Problem-solve to keep projects moving
  • Act as main point of contact for clients and internal teams
  • Provide updates and manage expectations
  • Coordinate between office and field teams
  • Manage projects from start to finish
  • Attend meetings and visit job sites regularly
  • Ensure work meets specifications and quality standards
  • Handle project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, and change orders
  • Prepare invoices, proposals, and contracts
  • Track progress and report on costs
  • Manage change order processes
  • Review project documentation for errors or gaps
  • Troubleshoot issues related to materials and deliveries
  • Maintain strong client and vendor relationships
  • Coordinate deliveries, staging, and materials
  • Keep job sites safe, organized, and compliant

Project Manager Requirements:

  • Experience managing schedules to ensure timely delivery of materials and project milestones
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
  • Well-rounded project management background, with a preference for estimating experience
  • Experience as a Project Manager from a general contractor or subcontractor perspective is acceptable
  • Engaging and energetic personality, with a strong work ethic
  • Strong proficiency in Excel
  • Interest in heavy civil, concrete, and underground projects
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management is preferred
  • PMP Certification or relevant project management training is preferred
  • Strong estimating background is preferred
  • Experience with heavy civil, concrete, and underground work is preferred
