Position Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) plays a critical role in overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and leading the accounting team. This position is essential for managing financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes, which directly impact the organization’s profitability and growth. The CFO will also be responsible for tax compliance and preparation, as well as ensuring adherence to construction-related financial regulations. The role requires a strong leader who can effectively manage a high-volume accounting department while fostering a collaborative team environment. The ideal candidate will thrive in a family-owned business culture that values teamwork and flexibility.
Salary Range: $200,000 – $250,000 / Year DOE
CFO Responsibilities:
- Direct oversight of the accounting team, including management of daily cash reporting
- Financial management of rental properties, including financial statements and tax obligations
- Job costing and budgeting for operational and non-operational employees
- Monthly and quarterly financial closes
- Preparation of tax documentation for outsourced CPA
- Organization of board meetings and event planning for team building
- Compliance with insurance regulations for the company and employees
- Collaboration with HR on employee performance matters
- Travel to branch locations for oversight and support
CFO Requirements:
- At least 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including 5 years as a CFO
- Experience in the construction industry is required
- Proficiency in managing a high-volume accounting department
- Experience working in a company of similar size ($100M)
- Expertise in tax preparation and sales/use tax compliance
- Familiarity with construction lean laws and bonding insurance
- Knowledge of 1099 reporting and sales/use tax compliance
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot table experience
- CPA certification is required
- Flexibility and willingness to take on various tasks is preferred
