Job Description
Position Title: Project Manager
The Project Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing projects from inception to final acceptance by the client. This position entails responsibilities such as contract administration, scheduling, costing, and quality control. The Project Manager is pivotal in ensuring that projects are completed within budget and meet client expectations. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential, as this role involves collaboration with employees, subcontractors, and clients. The ability to develop solutions to challenges and a commitment to continuous growth are key aspects of success in this role.
Salary Range: $80,000 – $100,000 / Year DOE
Project Manager Responsibilities:
- Manage assigned projects, typically valued between $7M and $12M, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards
- Coordinate work with general contractors, subcontractors, and inspectors to meet project schedules
- Oversee scheduling, material procurement, and change orders while maintaining accounting controls
- Lead the commissioning process and ensure compliance with project plans
- Attend all relevant meetings and ensure subcontractors understand their scope of work
- Document and monitor change orders for expediency in approval and payment
- Collaborate with the estimating team during bid submissions and project planning
- Ensure safety practices are followed and quality standards are met throughout the project lifecycle
- Provide effective hand-off to the service department for warranty and ongoing maintenance
Project Manager Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience as a Project Manager in the mechanical industry or related fields such as tradesperson, foreman, service engineer, or project engineer
- Proven ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with team members, subcontractors, and clients
- Strong leadership skills with clear and confident communication
- Ability to analyze details and develop viable solutions to client problems
- Experience with scheduling, material procurement, change orders, and accounting controls
- Exceptional organizational skills
- A strong desire for personal and professional growth
- Experience in mechanical plumbing/piping, sheet metal, prefabrication, and HVAC projects is preferred
- Understanding of the HVAC commissioning process is preferred
- A degree in mechanical engineering is preferred
- Experience managing large commercial projects valued at $5M or more is preferred
