Job Description

Position Title: Psychiatrist

The Psychiatrist plays a crucial role in diagnosing and treating mental health conditions within the community. This position involves conducting evaluations, managing treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care. The psychiatrist will engage with approximately 20 patients weekly, providing medication management and counseling. The role requires a commitment to quality care and compliance with healthcare regulations. A strong connection to the local community and cultural sensitivity toward Native American traditions are essential for success in this position.

Salary Range: $233,000 – $447,000 / Year DOE

Psychiatrist Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and treat mental health conditions through evaluations and patient assessments
  • Provide psychiatric evaluations and medication management
  • Develop and manage individual treatment plans for patients
  • Prescribe and monitor medications and other treatments
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals on patient care
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records and documentation
  • Provide counseling and guidance to patients and their families
  • Participate in clinical meetings, peer reviews, and case discussions
  • Review medical records and care decisions when needed
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and adhere to clinic policies and protocols
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards
  • Engage in community outreach and education related to mental health
  • Represent the organization professionally in the community
  • Attend required meetings, trainings, and professional development activities

Psychiatrist Requirements:

  • MD or DO degree
  • Board Certified Psychiatrist
  • Licensed to practice medicine in California without restriction
  • At least 2 years of community-based medical practice experience is preferred
  • Experience in healthcare delivery and clinical systems
  • Valid California medical license
  • DEA registration
  • CPR and ACLS certification
  • Valid California driver’s license
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well with a multidisciplinary team
  • Good organizational and documentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a clinical environment
  • Cultural sensitivity, particularly toward Native American communities is preferred
