Job Description
Position Title: Psychiatrist
The Psychiatrist plays a crucial role in diagnosing and treating mental health conditions within the community. This position involves conducting evaluations, managing treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care. The psychiatrist will engage with approximately 20 patients weekly, providing medication management and counseling. The role requires a commitment to quality care and compliance with healthcare regulations. A strong connection to the local community and cultural sensitivity toward Native American traditions are essential for success in this position.
Salary Range: $233,000 – $447,000 / Year DOE
Psychiatrist Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and treat mental health conditions through evaluations and patient assessments
- Provide psychiatric evaluations and medication management
- Develop and manage individual treatment plans for patients
- Prescribe and monitor medications and other treatments
- Collaborate closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals on patient care
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records and documentation
- Provide counseling and guidance to patients and their families
- Participate in clinical meetings, peer reviews, and case discussions
- Review medical records and care decisions when needed
- Support quality improvement initiatives and adhere to clinic policies and protocols
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards
- Engage in community outreach and education related to mental health
- Represent the organization professionally in the community
- Attend required meetings, trainings, and professional development activities
Psychiatrist Requirements:
- MD or DO degree
- Board Certified Psychiatrist
- Licensed to practice medicine in California without restriction
- At least 2 years of community-based medical practice experience is preferred
- Experience in healthcare delivery and clinical systems
- Valid California medical license
- DEA registration
- CPR and ACLS certification
- Valid California driver’s license
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well with a multidisciplinary team
- Good organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a clinical environment
- Cultural sensitivity, particularly toward Native American communities is preferred
