Position Title: Remediation Engineer

The Remediation Engineer will play a crucial role in developing Remedial Action Plans (RAPs) and designing remediation systems that comply with Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) standards. This position involves coordinating with field teams and project managers to support site assessments, oversee system installations, and ensure compliance with the Petroleum Restoration Program. The engineer will manage project documentation and maintain communication with DEP regulators, ensuring that all technical work meets regulatory requirements. The role requires navigating a specialized framework, producing high-quality documentation, and collaborating effectively with multiple stakeholders. A successful candidate will thrive in a flexible, results-oriented environment that emphasizes autonomy and accountability.

Remediation Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Develop and write high-quality Remedial Action Plans (RAPs)
  • Design and oversee remediation systems in compliance with DEP standards
  • Coordinate with field teams during system installations and startups
  • Manage project documentation and ensure timely communication with DEP regulators
  • Support project managers in executing remediation projects

Remediation Engineer Requirements:

  • Currently working for an ATC firm under the Florida DEP Petroleum Restoration Program
  • Minimum 2 years of experience specifically in the PRP scope
  • Understanding of DEP processes and requirements for RAPs
  • Experience in designing and installing remediation systems
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with regulators
  • Environmental or Civil Engineering degree is required
  • EIT is preferred, PE is a plus
  • Experience writing or assisting with RAPs is preferred
  • Strong rapport with DEP reviewers is preferred
  • Flexible, autonomous, humble, and easy to work with is preferred
