Job Description

Position Title: Millwright & Motor Rewinder

This position requires a skilled technician who will primarily work in a shop environment, with occasional field assignments. The individual will be responsible for overhauling generators, motors, pumps, and gearboxes, ensuring quality and reliability in all tasks. The role demands a strong background in motor rewinding and industrial maintenance. Candidates should possess a dependable work ethic and be able to work effectively within a small team. The position offers opportunities for growth and mentorship in a stable and supportive work environment.

Salary Range: $82,300 – $104,000 / Year DOE

Millwright & Motor Rewinder Responsibilities:

  • Disassemble and inspect AC and DC motors for damage
  • Rewind motor coils using appropriate materials
  • Diagnose and repair electrical failures
  • Tear down and rebuild motors, pumps, gearboxes, and generators
  • Perform mechanical repairs and maintenance
  • Utilize hoists and rigging equipment to handle heavy components
  • Conduct quality control checks and testing before returning equipment
  • Assist with field service calls as needed

Millwright & Motor Rewinder Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience rewinding AC motors
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform repairs
  • Experience in an industrial repair environment
  • Ability to rig and move heavy equipment safely
  • Valid driver’s license for local service calls
  • Willingness to perform limited field work
  • Dependable work ethic and professionalism
  • Ability to follow directions from the foreman and work in a team setting
  • Must pass background and drug screening
  • Cultural fit with a straightforward and honest approach is essential
  • 10+ years of rewinding experience is preferred
  • Millwright-level mechanical skills are preferred
  • A background in generator repair is preferred
  • Experience on industrial fishing vessels is preferred
  • Desire to grow into leadership is preferred
