Job Description
Position Title: Human Resources Manager
An experienced Human Resources Manager is sought to oversee the HR functions of a growing, family-run electrical construction company. This role encompasses managing both union and non-union staff, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and implementing best practices in human resources. The ideal candidate will engage with ownership and management while supporting employees across various departments. This position requires a hands-on approach, with responsibilities that include evaluating current HR policies and managing daily HR operations. The role presents an opportunity to contribute significantly to the company’s growth and culture.
Salary Range: $90,000 – $100,000 / Year DOE
Human Resources Manager Responsibilities:
- Oversee all HR functions, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compensation, and terminations
- Serve as the primary HR contact for employees, supervisors, and ownership
- Coordinate drug testing
- Support grievance handling and disciplinary processes in coordination with management and legal counsel
- Track union reporting, benefits, and wage requirements
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures aligned with company needs and legal requirements
- Function as a liaison between management and union representatives as needed
- Administer union agreements and ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements
- Partner with managers to identify staffing needs and job requirements
- Manage full-cycle recruiting for office positions
- Coordinate onboarding, orientation, and training for new hires, both office and field employees
Human Resources Manager Requirements:
- 5-8 years as an HR Manager with experience in overseeing all HR functions
- Experience working with outside counsel to maintain compliance
- Experience coordinating drug testing and physicals
- Experience coordinating hiring with external partners and internally
- A bachelor’s degree is required
- Tactful, down-to-earth leadership approach
- Experience tracking union reporting, benefits, and wage requirements is preferred
- Experience in administering union agreements and ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements is preferred
- HR certification/education (PHR, SHRM-CP) is preferred
