Salary Range: $120000 – $210000 / Year DOE

Public Law Attorney Responsibilities

  • Attend board meetings and provide legal recommendations.
  • Advise public agency clients on a wide range of legal matters, including municipal law and environmental regulations
  • Research and draft contracts, ordinances, resolutions, and legal opinions
  • Support public agency staff and elected officials with legal guidance

Public Law Attorney Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in public law, including knowledge of General Plan and Housing Element Law, Density Bonus Law, and California Environmental Quality Act
  • Experience with SEQUA related to environmental law
  • Law degree from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Active California Bar membership
  • Strong negotiation and advocacy skills
  • Experience representing public entities or working in the public sector is preferred
