Job Description

The Senior Project Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing the development and management of project schedules, budgets, and forecasts for dairy biogas facility construction projects. This position involves coordinating with subcontractors and vendors to ensure the timely delivery of materials and equipment, which may require significant travel. The Senior Project Manager will also oversee construction managers on-site and facilitate the transition of the supply chain team to report directly to them. Regular financial reporting and analysis to the leadership team will be a key responsibility, highlighting the importance of financial acumen in this role. The ideal candidate will possess a hands-on approach to managing large-scale projects while maintaining a focus on detail and collaboration.

Senior Project Manager Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed project schedules, budgets, and forecasts for construction projects valued between $25 million and $40 million
  • Coordinate with engineering and construction teams to finalize project scope and procurement plans
  • Ensure the supply chain is prepared with materials and equipment delivery schedules
  • Oversee and coordinate the work of contracted construction managers on-site
  • Manage the scope of work, schedules, and budgets for various trade subcontractors
  • Track cash flow, purchase orders, and milestone payments
  • Provide regular financial reporting and analysis to the leadership team
  • Supervise the commissioning and start-up of facilities during critical phases
  • Transition the supply chain team to report to the Senior Project Manager once new hires are in place
  • Continuously monitor and update project schedules, budgets, and forecasts

Senior Project Manager Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of overall construction, building, and project execution experience
  • Proficiency in project management software such as Microsoft Project and Primavera
  • Strong financial acumen to manage budgets, cash flows, purchase orders, and reporting
  • Ability to work flexibly between the office and construction sites, with up to 60% travel
  • Previous experience managing large-scale construction projects valued between $25 million and $40 million preferred
  • Familiarity with the renewable energy, biogas, or landfill gas industries is preferred
  • Exposure to dairy or agricultural facilities and operations preferred
  • Demonstrated success in leading and coordinating subcontractors and construction managers preferred
