Job Description
The Commercial Manager plays a pivotal role in driving business growth and new client acquisition within the logistics and maritime services industry. This position entails leading pricing, sales, and customer service teams to foster client relationships and develop new accounts. The Commercial Manager will be responsible for evaluating financials for projects and creating compelling value propositions tailored to various industries. This role requires a strategic mindset to advise the CEO on growth strategies while managing a diverse set of responsibilities, including monitoring market trends and handling customer escalations. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment and demonstrate a commitment to achieving sales targets and enhancing client satisfaction.
Commercial Manager Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities to expand the client base.
- Advise the CEO on growth strategies and investment opportunities.
- Evaluate financials for projects, including CAPEX, land, equipment, and warehouses.
- Create value propositions for clients across various industries.
- Set and manage goals for each business line.
- Build and oversee the business plan while ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Engage with clients and partners to establish trust and secure contracts.
- Oversee pricing, quotes, and margins to maintain competitiveness.
- Monitor market trends and competitor pricing to inform strategic decisions.
- Address customer issues and escalations effectively.
- Track key performance indicators related to quotes, margins, and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with Operations, Finance, and Branch Managers to streamline processes.
- Standardize commercial processes and service level agreements.
Commercial Manager Requirements:
- 5–10 years of experience in sales, business development, or commercial leadership.
- Fluency in English and Spanish.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience in the logistics and maritime services industry.
- Bachelor’s degree or substantial sales leadership experience preferred
