Job Description
A global leader in premium solid hardwood flooring is hiring a Sales Manager to build and grow its presence across the U.S. sports market, with a primary focus on the Northeast. This is a true hunter role responsible for developing new business, expanding relationships with sports dealers, and increasing brand visibility in a market with massive upside. You’ll manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation and relationship building to closing and account growth, while working closely with leadership to shape strategy in a fast-growing vertical. This role is ideal for a driven, relationship-oriented sales professional who enjoys opening doors, building trust, and growing a territory from the ground up in a niche, high-impact market.
Sales Manager Responsibilities:
- Develop and grow new business within the sports flooring market
- Build and maintain strong relationships with sports dealers and key partners
- Respond quickly and effectively to inbound web leads and inquiries
- Proactively research, identify, and pursue new dealer and project opportunities
- Nurture key accounts to increase repeat business and share of wallet
- Educate partners on products, systems, and differentiators
- Manage a full sales cycle, from prospecting through close
- Track activity, opportunities, and forecasts using internal tools and CRM
- Represent the company at industry events, meetings, and client visits
- Collaborate closely with leadership to shape go-to-market strategy
Sales Manager Requirements:
- 3+ years of sales experience, preferably in sports, construction, architecture, or commercial products
- Proven ability to generate new business, not just manage existing accounts
- Experience selling into a wholesale or B2B environment (not retail or showroom-based)
- Strong relationship-building and follow-up skills
- Comfort working independently in a remote role
- Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Tech-savvy and adaptable as new systems are implemented
- Degree preferred, but experience outweighs credentials
