Job Description

The Field Service Technician role is essential for maintaining and servicing advanced laser printing equipment across a designated territory near Indianapolis, IN. This position involves working with various technologies, including continuous inkjet and fiber lasers, which require a solid technical foundation and hands-on experience. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities and a customer-focused mindset, ensuring that client needs are addressed promptly and effectively. The role demands flexibility in working hours, as technicians may occasionally need to respond to service requests outside of regular hours. Individuals who thrive in independent work environments and possess excellent communication skills will excel in this position.

Field Service Technician Responsibilities:

  • Proactively monitor the status of all printers at the customer facility using the company Cloud system.
  • Troubleshoot and repair printing systems by diagnosing issues on-site and performing necessary maintenance.
  • Conduct regular preventative maintenance to ensure printers operate efficiently and reduce future problems.
  • Document all work orders and resolutions in the system, providing detailed reports on printer performance.
  • Manage on-site inventory of parts and supplies, ordering replacements as necessary to minimize downtime.

Field Service Technician Requirements:

  • Strong background and experience with industrial/commercial printing equipment
  • Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex printing systems.
  • Understanding of electrical, mechanical, and software components of the printers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers.
  • Willingness to explain technical issues and solutions clearly to clients.
  • Preference for candidates with prior field service or maintenance experience.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of equipment maintenance.
  • Willingness to complete a 10-day training program at the company facility.
  • Ability to learn and become proficient in proprietary technology and processes.
