Job Description

This is a revenue-driving family law seat with real autonomy, courtroom exposure, and a clear path forward. A respected, client-first family law firm is hiring two Family Law Attorneys to step into active caseloads, work directly with clients, and represent matters across litigation, mediation, and collaborative practice in El Dorado, Sacramento, and Placer counties. This role blends court appearances, hands-on client counseling, and ownership of cases from intake through resolution, with strong paralegal support and flexibility to work hybrid once ramped. They are looking for attorneys who take pride in their work, connect easily with clients, and want to build a long-term career at a firm that trusts its people to run.

Salary Range: $80,000 – $120,000 / Year DOE

Family Law Attorney Responsibilities:

  • Manage a dedicated family law caseload, ramping to approximately 30 – 40 active matters within six months
  • Handle divorce and family law matters, including litigation, mediation, and collaborative cases
  • Appear in court regularly across El Dorado, Sacramento, and Placer counties
  • Meet with current and prospective clients in person and guide them through complex, emotional matters
  • Draft pleadings, declarations, and legal memoranda
  • Collaborate with partners, associates, and support staff to drive case strategy and results
  • Produce approximately $25K/month in case revenue once established
  • Accurately track time and billing using Practice Panther and Outlook

Family Law Attorney Requirements:

  • Active California Bar license with California family law experience
  • Ideally 1 – 2+ years of family law experience, but open to more senior attorneys
  • Newly barred attorneys considered if they have meaningful family law clerkships and a clear commitment to the practice
  • Open to attorneys from litigation-heavy backgrounds
  • Strong courtroom presence and comfort with frequent in-person appearances
  • Personable, polished communicator who presents well with clients
  • Ability to manage clients compassionately while maintaining professionalism and boundaries
