A well-established regional civil litigation firm is hiring a Medical Malpractice Litigation Associate to join its busy and well-established Camp Hill, PA office. This role is hands-on and trial-driven, supporting complex medical malpractice defense matters from inception through resolution. The associate will work in tight-knit teams alongside partners, senior attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants, handling substantive litigation tasks, engaging directly with clients, and gaining meaningful courtroom and deposition experience. Medical Malpractice Litigation Associate Responsibilities:
- Handle assigned medical malpractice matters with appropriate partner and senior attorney oversight
- Manage cases from inception through post-trial, including pleadings, discovery, and motion practice
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents
- Prepare, review, and respond to written discovery
- Conduct legal research tailored to the needs of each case
- Take and defend fact and expert depositions
- Conduct direct and cross-examination of expert witnesses at trial and in depositions
- Appear in court for hearings, conferences, mediations, and trials
- Communicate directly with clients to provide case updates and strategic guidance
- Collaborate within a team structure that includes attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants
Medical Malpractice Litigation Associate Requirements:
- 5+ years of medical malpractice litigation experience
- Open to candidates from plaintiff or defense backgrounds
- Experience taking and defending depositions
- Trial experience strongly preferred
- Active Pennsylvania Bar admission
- Strong analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Self-starter who is proactive and looks for ways to add value
- Commitment to the practice area and long-term growth
