Job Description
An Algona, WA-based construction company with over 35 years of experience delivering full-spectrum landscape and civil construction solutions is seeking an HR/IT Support Specialist to join their team. This is a hands-on opportunity for a versatile professional who thrives in both human resources and technological support. The HR/IT Support Specialist will oversee day-to-day HR operations, including onboarding, benefits administration, and payroll, while also managing IT coordination, hardware tracking, and vendor communications. You’ll work directly with leadership in a fast-paced, growing organization that values reliability, precision, and initiative. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable wearing many hats, with a passion for optimizing processes and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.
Salary Range: $75,000 – $90,000 / Year DOE
HR/IT Support Specialist Responsibilities:
- Oversee onboarding and offboarding of employees, including paperwork, systems setup, and training coordination
- Manage employee records, benefits, and union payroll processing
- Partner with external HR consultants to support policy updates, compliance, and employee relations
- Serve as the primary contact for HR inquiries, safety documentation, and incident reporting
- Ensure adherence to all labor laws and regulatory standards
- Support performance review processes and HR data tracking
- Coordinate with external IT vendors for troubleshooting, user access, and software maintenance
- Maintain hardware inventory and oversee assignments for company devices
- Support data security, backups, and file organization systems
- Manage system permissions and onboarding/offboarding tech setup
- Identify and implement process improvements for system efficiency
HR/IT Support Specialist Requirements:
- 2 – 3+ years of experience in HR or operations
- Experience within construction, manufacturing, or a unionized environment preferred
- Proven experience handling union payroll
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with Vista Viewpoint software preferred
- Strong understanding of HR compliance and documentation practices
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Self-motivated, dependable, and able to manage multiple responsibilities independently
- Must be able to work onsite full-time
- Previous IT coordination or system administration experience preferred
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities preferred
- Familiarity with HR best practices for small to mid-sized teams preferred
