A Houston-based family of interior design entities is hiring a hands-on Senior Accountant to own the core accounting functions across a growing portfolio of luxury interior design businesses. This is a newly created position designed to bring financial operations in-house while continuing to partner with their external CPA firm. You will manage month-end activities, multi-entity financials, billing, AP, and reporting, serving as the trusted accounting expert to the Co-Owner/CFO and leadership team. Senior Accountant Responsibilities:

• Lead monthly billing and accounting activities across six legal entities
• Prepare month-end close data, including journal entries, cash and credit card coding, reconciliations
• Support AP, cash management, and vendor resolution
• Generate and analyze inventory, shipment, and operational reports
• Assist the CFO and operations teams in process improvements and ERP implementation
• Maintain accurate balance sheets and income statements
• Perform budget-to-actual reporting and variance analysis
• Work with large datasets and ensure high accuracy in transaction matching
• Assist external firm during close and audit-related work

Senior Accountant Requirements:

• 3 – 4 years of accounting experience with full month-end responsibilities
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Advanced Excel experience
• Experience using QuickBooks
• Strong understanding of debits/credits, journal entries, and AP processes
• Excellent judgment, organization, and ability to handle complexity
• Multi-entity accounting experience preferred
• Public accounting or inventory-centric industry experience preferred
• Experience implementing or operating within an ERP environment preferred
