Job Description

A trusted leader in industrial air compressor systems, is seeking an Outside Sales Rep to cover the Portland, Maine territory. This role is ideal for a self-motivated sales professional who thrives in the field, builds genuine client relationships, and knows how to turn opportunity into results. You’ll be responsible for managing an existing customer base while developing new business opportunities across the region. From generating quotes and following up on leads to closing deals and ensuring client satisfaction, you’ll be the face of the company’s products and services. They’re looking for a proactive, dependable sales professional who understands technical sales, values integrity, and can manage their own territory with accountability and drive.

Outside Sales Rep Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage a sales territory focused on Portland Maine and surrounding regions
  • Generate new leads and maintain relationships with industrial, manufacturing, and energy clients
  • Prepare and deliver sales quotes, proposals, and follow-ups to close deals
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure successful order fulfillment and client satisfaction
  • Track all sales activity, pipeline updates, and customer communications
  • Meet and exceed monthly and annual sales goals
  • Stay knowledgeable about air compressors, dryers, filters, and related systems
  • Provide post-sale support and coordinate with the service department as needed
  • Attend occasional check-ins or meetings at company headquarters in Rockland, MA

Outside Sales Rep Requirements:

  • Must reside in or within 45 – 60 minutes of Portland, Maine
  • 2 – 4 years of experience in industrial, mechanical, or technical sales
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage a remote/field-based schedule
  • Clean driving record and valid driver’s license
  • Must pass a pre-employment background and drug test
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Organized, self-disciplined, and results-oriented
  • Comfortable learning new products, systems, and CRM tools
  • Experience selling rotating equipment, compressors, or HVAC systems preferred
  • Consultative sales approach with technical understanding of industrial machinery preferred
  • Strong presentation and proposal skills preferred
  • Customer-focused mindset with excellent follow-up habits preferred
  • Adaptability to new sales tools and processes preferred
