A respected family-law firm in White Plains, NY is seeking an exceptional Family Law Paralegal to join their team. This is a role for someone who blends precision with heart, supporting families through some of the most defining transitions of their lives while delivering flawless, detail-perfect work. You’ll serve as the organized, steady, and trusted backbone of a fast-moving practice focused on divorce, custody, support, and post-judgment matters. The attorneys depend on a professional who stays composed under pressure, communicates with empathy, and executes with such accuracy that nothing needs a second review.

Salary Range: $70,000 – $80,000 / Year DOE

Family Law Paralegal Responsibilities:

  • Draft and file Summons and Complaints, Verified Answers, Statements of Net Worth, discovery demands, and responses
  • Prepare trial documents, including witness lists, exhibit binders, and trial notebooks
  • Maintain organized client files and ensure all information is accurately updated
  • Manage attorney calendars, scheduling court dates, depositions, deadlines, and client meetings
  • Review document production and create detailed discovery charts
  • Draft letters to clients, courts, and opposing counsel
  • Assist attorneys with trial preparation and case strategy
  • Act as a primary client liaison, answering questions, providing updates, and guiding clients through required documents
  • Coordinate with attorneys to ensure cases progress effectively and deadlines are met
  • Support the entire legal team with overflow and case management tasks as needed

Family Law Paralegal Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience as a paralegal, ideally in family law
  • Strong experience drafting and filing litigation and trial documents
  • Skilled at calendaring and managing deadlines for multiple attorneys
  • Extremely detail-oriented with a Type-A approach and zero tolerance for errors
  • High emotional intelligence and empathy for clients under stress
  • Strong client-facing communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Adobe and legal practice software
  • Experience with LEAP preferred
  • Ability to multitask in a small, collaborative environment
  • Paralegal certificate preferred
