A fast-growing electric mobility company transforming how communities move is hiring a People Operations Manager to lead and scale HR operations across the organization. This hybrid role owns the day-to-day execution of People functions which include recruiting and onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and compliance while building structure, clarity, and efficiency into every process. You’ll manage a small but mighty team of People Operations Specialists, supporting both the corporate and field employees, including 500+ hourly drivers across multiple states. Salary Range: $120,000 – $150,000 / Year DOE

People Operations Manager Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of People Operations including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, and compliance
  • Lead and mentor a team of two People Operations Specialists
  • Partner with leadership to assess workforce needs, implement best practices, and drive culture-building initiatives
  • Manage talent acquisition for both hourly and salaried roles to support rapid hiring cycles
  • Develop and refine HR policies, processes, and documentation to improve consistency and efficiency
  • Oversee performance management frameworks that drive accountability and measurable results
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple states
  • Collaborate with Finance and Operations to align HR processes with organizational goals and growth objectives
  • Leverage data to identify workforce trends and recommend strategic people initiatives
  • Lead by example as a player-coach who balances strategic insight with hands-on execution

People Operations Manager Requirements:

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in management or leadership capacity
  • Proven success in scaling HR operations within a fast-paced, startup or growth-stage company
  • Experience managing both hourly and exempt employee populations across multiple states
  • Strong background in recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and compliance
  • Excellent knowledge of employment law, labor relations, and employee lifecycle management
  • Experience with HRIS platforms (Paylocity preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR certification preferred
  • Strong communication skills, business acumen, and an ownership mindset
  • Experience in transportation, hospitality, or other distributed workforces preferred
  • Proven ability to build scalable systems and processes from the ground up preferred
  • Demonstrated success operating in a lean, hands-on environment where adaptability is key
