Job Description

A specialized industrial equipment and process systems company is building a new high-volume manufacturing division and needs a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to stand up the tooling, work cells, and floor structure that will make it scalable. This is not a desk job. You’ll live on the shop floor, design and implement jigs and fixtures, troubleshoot bottlenecks in real time, improve material flow, and help integrate robotic and laser welding systems like factory ramps. You’ll be the technical anchor for daily throughput, quality, and production priorities. They’re looking for a seasoned, shop-floor-first manufacturing engineer with deep tooling and fixture experience, solid welding familiarity, and the leadership mindset to build structure from scratch and grow into leading a team.

Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and continuously improve jigs, fixtures, and tooling to enable repeatable, high-volume production
  • Develop and optimize work cells and material flow for throughput and quality
  • Spend significant time on the shop floor supporting welders, technicians, and shop leads
  • Troubleshoot bottlenecks, prioritize production issues, and drive fast solutions
  • Support integration of robotic welding, laser welding, and automated equipment into the new factory
  • Create and maintain manufacturing standards, work instructions, and process documentation
  • Partner with production leaders to identify and execute the highest-impact improvements
  • Establish and track KPIs tied to efficiency, cost reduction, and output
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with design, R&D, PLM, distribution, marketing, and service teams
  • Help scale output to 250,000+ unique parts annually as the division ramps
  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a growing manufacturing engineering team

Manufacturing Engineer Requirements:

  • 8+ years minimum manufacturing engineering experience
  • Proven experience building or optimizing high-volume or repetitive manufacturing environments
  • Deep background in designing and implementing fixtures, tooling, tack jigs, and weld jigs
  • Hands-on, mechanically inclined, shop-floor mindset with comfort working directly with production teams
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot quickly and manage shifting priorities without losing control of the day
  • Working understanding of welding processes and weld quality (does not need to be a welder)
  • Leadership capability and desire to guide teams as the function scales
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, manufacturing engineering, or related field preferred, not required if experience is strong
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Experience integrating automation, robotic welding, laser welding, or automated assembly systems preferred
  • Lean / Continuous Improvement background preferred
  • Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks or similar), GD&T, and manufacturing documentation preferred
  • Experience in MIG/TIG environments and weld process parameter familiarity preferred
  • Tool & die, machining, or precision fabrication exposure preferred
  • ERP/MRP experience preferred
  • Project management and vendor management experience for tooling/automation builds preferred

Benefits:

  • Relocation support
  • Health insurance
  • Weekly payroll
  • 401(k) with 50% match up to 10%
  • PTO
  • Strong flexibility for appointments, family events, and short personal needs through hour-shifting vs. burning PTO

If you want to build a manufacturing function from the ground up, lead real change on the floor, and own the systems that drive throughput and quality, this is the kind of role that becomes a career-defining win. Apply now! #LI-MB1
