A dynamic and fast-paced investment advisory firm based in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois, is seeking an Investment Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operational functions of the firm’s Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) platform. Reporting directly to the COO, this individual will serve as the main point of contact for custodial relationships and client operational requests while supporting trading, reporting, and data management functions. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with deep RIA or broker-dealer operational experience, a sharp eye for accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with precision and professionalism.

Salary Range: $135,000 – $150,000 / year DOE

Investment Operations Manager Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day investment operations including account setup, transfers, cash movement, trading coordination, and performance reporting
  • Support trade execution processes such as allocations, reconciliations, and transaction reviews
  • Utilize investment and client management systems to maintain accurate data and ensure seamless account administration
  • Work closely with advisory and service teams to deliver timely and accurate client solutions
  • Oversee cash flow, account alerts, and portfolio restrictions to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Collaborate with compliance and management to review activities, prepare reports, and uphold firm policies and procedures
  • Foster strong working relationships with clients, custodians, and internal partners to promote operational efficiency
  • Continuously evaluate and refine processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and client service quality

Investment Operations Manager Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in investment or trading operations
  • Must have practical experience with custodial platforms and account service workflows
  • Must have strong proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Must have working knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements in investment operations
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, trading processes, and portfolio administration
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical capability, and critical thinking skills
  • Clear communicator with the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
