A premier design-build firm in Midlothian, Virginia, specializing in custom residential and commercial cabinetry, is seeking a detail-oriented CAD Engineer to join its growing team. This role focuses on transforming design concepts into accurate, buildable plans while ensuring craftsmanship and precision in every project. The position involves working on a variety of residential and commercial projects, collaborating closely with production teams to maintain quality and efficiency. CAD Engineer Responsibilities:
- Create detailed build drawings and shop lists for residential and commercial cabinetry projects
- Translate schematic and kitchen designs into accurate plans using AutoCAD and Cabinet Vision
- Ensure every drawing aligns with engineering and production standards for buildability
- Coordinate with project managers, foremen, and engineers to maintain production flow
- Track and order materials specific to each project’s design and requirements
- Support multiple active projects by reviewing designs and verifying technical accuracy
- Identify and resolve drawing discrepancies before production begins
- Contribute to project quality control through consistent attention to detail
CAD Engineer Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in estimating for high-end residential construction
- Experience with stone and tile work is highly preferred
- Proficiency in CAD and Bluebeam
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at once
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
