A long-established landscape services company based in Parrish, Florida is seeking a Purchasing Plant Agent to oversee the sourcing, purchasing, and transport of plants and landscape materials for large-scale community and residential development projects. This hands-on role involves building strong vendor relationships, managing procurement operations, and ensuring that the right materials arrive on time and in excellent condition. The ideal candidate is dependable, highly organized, and knowledgeable about Florida plant material and regional suppliers, thriving in a fast-moving, family-oriented work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Source and purchase plants, trees, shrubs, and other materials needed for landscaping projects
• Coordinate purchasing and supplier relationships across multiple local vendors
• Handle transportation, loading, and unloading of materials to ensure timely delivery
• Adjust orders and schedules as project needs evolve
• Follow guidance from management and adhere to company procedures
• Maintain safety standards and attend regular safety meetings
• Build and maintain professional relationships with vendors and internal teams
• Support project teams by ensuring materials are available when needed
• Participate in approval processes for project installations
• Travel locally for procurement and occasional out-of-town trips as required

Requirements:

• Significant experience in plant procurement, landscaping materials, or a similar field, with strong knowledge of Florida plants and common diseases
• Demonstrated ability to manage supplier relationships and source materials regionally
• High school diploma or GED required, though extensive experience may be considered in place of formal education
• Valid Florida driver’s license
• Comfortable operating large trailers and performing physical tasks including lifting and moving materials
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Excel
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Spanish language skills a plus
• Organized, reliable, and a collaborative team player
• Familiarity with Florida plant materials preferred, relocation support may be available for exceptional candidates
