A growing construction firm is seeking a Junior Estimator to join its office in Pleasanton, California. This role offers the opportunity to support a wide range of commercial and industrial projects, from ground-up builds to tenant improvements. The Junior Estimator will work closely with senior estimators, engineers, and project managers to prepare accurate cost estimates, evaluate bids, and participate in preconstruction planning. This position is ideal for a construction professional early in their estimating career who is motivated, detail-oriented, and ready to develop within a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.

Salary Range: $70,000 – $85,000 / year DOE

Junior Estimator Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing estimates for commercial and industrial projects
• Perform takeoffs and develop pricing for labor, materials, and equipment
• Help define scopes of work and solicit subcontractor bids
• Participate in preconstruction meetings and client presentations
• Support value engineering and cost analysis exercises
• Collaborate with project managers and senior estimators during design phases
• Track budgets and costs as projects progress
• Manage multiple assignments and deadlines with oversight from senior staff

Junior Estimator Requirements

• 2+ years of estimating experience in the construction industry
• Background with a commercial general contractor preferred
• Proficiency in financial risk management
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field
• Familiarity with Bluebeam, Procore, and On-Screen Takeoff
• Strong technical knowledge of building systems and construction methods
• Clear communication skills and strong attention to detail
